Rearden Commerce Mobile Personal Assistant Now Compatible with Any Corporate Travel Program
Rearden Commerce Launches New Mobile Website and Paperless Boarding Pass Capabilities
Foster City, CA - April 12, 2010
Rearden Commerce Inc., today announced that the Mobile Personal Assistant is now available to any corporation regardless of their current online booking tool. Formerly available only as a premier feature of the Rearden Personal Assistant and American Express Intelligent Online Marketplace (aXiom), the Mobile Personal Assistant can now be seamlessly integrated with any corporate travel program.
"New technologies promoting around-the-clock connectivity have become commonplace," said Lisa Durocher, senior vice president, American Express Business Travel. "Companies have realized they need to empower their employees by providing access to these solutions and making them part of their corporate policy or else employees will find their own alternatives. Business travelers with access to next generation services will benefit from this trend through increased productivity and efficiency, yielding the highest rate of return on travel investments for a company."
The standalone offering is based on Rearden Commerce's proprietary technology that enables the Mobile Personal Assistant to automatically sync with a traveler's passenger name record (PNR), proactively providing the most up-to-date itinerary information. Designed to plug into any corporate booking tool, the Mobile Personal Assistant incorporates all corporate policies and preferred vendors and extends the value of the booking tool to any mobile device.
Additionally, the company's internal mobile team has expanded its offering to now include an iPhone® application and a mobile web solution, in addition to the original BlackBerry® application. Now travelers can access the Mobile Personal Assistant on any smartphone.
Customers can also enjoy a paperless travel experience with the recently added mobile check-in and mobile boarding passes functionality. With this release, the Mobile Personal Assistant now incorporates what PhoCusWright identified as the top five most desired mobile functionalities for which business travelers are willing to pay (source: PhoCusWright's Mobile: The Next Platform For Travel report, 2009). An individual can now check-in via any mobile device and receive a link to access a mobile boarding pass that includes a barcode, which can be scanned at select airports when passing through security and boarding the plane.
"Companies are realizing that their employees want one intuitive mobile application that applies their personal preferences and bundles the functionality of several applications,” said Patrick Grady, CEO and founder of Rearden Commerce. "The evolution of consumer expectations, combined with our commitment to extend the greatest choice and flexibility to our partners and customers, is the key reason behind our decision to make the Mobile Personal Assistant available as an independent solution.”
The location-aware Mobile Personal Assistant gives users access to a personalized travel itinerary, real-time travel alerts, dining search and reserving capabilities, flight search, and destination weather information. Rearden Commerce has led the charge in mobile travel technology since May 2008, when it launched its first mobile application for the BlackBerry®.
