Chief Financial Officer and President, Business Operations

A seasoned executive with extensive global experience in operations, finance and capital markets, Chief Financial Officer Rick Simonson is responsible for driving operational efficiencies, managing cost-effective growth and allocating capital strategically – while assisting with the expansion of Rearden Commerce’s rapidly-growing ecosystem.

Prior to joining Rearden Commerce, Rick served as Nokia Corporation’s CFO for six years before leading the company’s Mobile Phones business – including strategic sourcing for the company’s Devices business unit. As CFO, Rick had responsibility for group’s Finance and Control, Internal Audit, Treasury, Investor Relations, Mergers & Acquisitions, Indirect Sourcing and Venture Capital Investments. During his tenure at Nokia, Rick was a member of the Group Executive Board of Nokia for six years.

Before joining Nokia Corporation, Rick spent 16 years in banking, most of which were at Bank of America Securities based in San Francisco, where his culminating position was Managing Director & Head of Global Project Finance, Global Corporate & Investment Bank.

Rick serves as Lead Director of Electronic Arts and as a member of the Board and Audit Committee Chair of Silver Spring Networks. He is also a Trustee of the International House – New York, a not for profit educational organization. Rick holds a bachelor’s degree in science and mining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and a master’s degree in business administration and finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Rick resides in Northern California with his wife and five children.
