As the Vice President of Engineering, Julie is tasked with overseeing the activities and deliverables of the entire engineering and quality assurance organization. Julie joined the company in September 2008 as Director, Applications Engineering, leading development and quality assurance for the application suite in the Rearden Personal Assistant,assuming the Vice President role in October 2009.
Julie Butterfield brings more than 24 years of engineering experience to Rearden Commerce. Prior to joining the company, Julie spent 21 years at Oracle, Siebel, and again Oracle after Siebel was acquired in 2006. Most recently, she was Vice President of Development for Oracle's Application Integration Architecture, directing a global development organization delivering products that enabled integration across Oracle's complex application portfolio that resulted from Oracle's acquisitive product growth strategy.
Julie's career at Oracle and Siebel also included positions in software development, project management, product management, architecture, and consulting practice management. Prior to her first tenure at Oracle, Julie was a software engineer with the University of California, Cetus (a biotech firm), and Hale & Dorr (a large law firm in Boston.)
Julie earned a BA in English and a Master of Library and Information Science from UC Berkeley. She is married, and has two nearly-grown children and a Labradoodle. She resides in Belmont, CA.
